William Ayloffe
1662-1728
William Ayloffe was born in Bassingbourn, Cambridgeshire and attended Westminster School. He was admitted to Trinity as a pensioner in June 1680, aged eighteen. He won a scholarship in 1681 and graduated BA in 1683/4 and MA in 1687, the same year that he became a Fellow. He held the post of Public Orator from 1696 to 1726, and took his LL.D in 1705. He donated £30 towards the repair and beautification of the Chapel in 1707.
